A Simple Trick

Hi, this is Kris, welcome to Lifeview 101.

I hope you have had a good couple of weeks. I pray that you are staying cool and dry.

It seems that people are either flooded out of their homes or cooking like lobsters from the heat. My hope is that you are staying safe and comfortable.

I want to share with you that I have a dream. It is a big dream. They say if you are going to dream make it big, so I am!  I would love to go on a long-distance hike. A journey all by myself. A pilgrimage of sorts. I want to walk the Camino which is a long-distance hiking pilgrimage across Spain.

One of the many websites I examined stated the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) is a large network of ancient pilgrim routes stretching across Europe and coming together at the tomb of St. James (Santiago in Spanish) in Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain. http://santiago-compostela.net/

Pilgrims, that is what you are called by the people of Spain, can choose to walk 50 miles along these ancient routes. Sixty miles is a nice number. Three hundred and fifty is very daring. And the five hundred mile trek is for real hikers. I mean diehards. But, no matter the distance your choose, the journey will take you across the beautiful countryside in your quest to reach your final destination, the church of St James. Pilgrims have made this journey for thousands of years.  That’s right, thousands of years.

Over 300,000 people a year trek across the country following these routes for a variety of reasons.  For some it is a spiritual quest.  For others it is a chance to get away and rediscover themselves.  For me it would provide some much-needed time for reflection, quietude, and peace.

Travelers who make this journey do so for any number of reasons.  My goal is that I want to push myself farther than I ever have before. I want to walk alone.  I want to listen to my inner chatter without the voices of others calling to me with their needs.

I want to take care of only me. And the first step in this journey is finding a decent pair of shoes and socks in order to walk more than 3 1/2 miles a day. That is right, the first and most important step is to be able to walk along without sweaty, achy feet.

My sweetie

Let me say here that I have been walking between 2 1/2 to 4 miles a day, most days, for over five years, that’s right five years, and it is no fun.  Okay some days are good, but most end up focused on my dam feet, and how awful they feel.

This all started when I got my dog and felt guilty that she was stuck in the house all day while I worked.  I wanted to make her happy. She loves to walk and snuffle.  It is her greatest joy.  For me it has been a struggle.

I have read so many reviews on socks and shoes that I want to throw up.  I have read hiking blogs, and shoe reviews.  I have spent hundreds, yes hundreds of dollars on socks.  They say socks make all the difference, they haven’t, and now I have become the dreaded lady at Kohl’s “ who is here to return another pair of shoes.”

I have used the Internet to the best of my ability to look for a good pair of hiking shoes to walk the Camino.  I have looked at blogs by some of those who have already walked across Spain.  I have read hiking blogs until I cannot remember who is who any more.

In my search for comfort, I have personally purchased and sent back five pairs of expensive shoes that felt horrible on my feet. I own two pairs that barely make the 3 mile mark, despite feeling good to start with, and I spent hours in the best shoe store in town trying on pair after pair of recommended shoes to only discover that there is not a “good “shoe “for my cranky old feet.  What can I do?

I mean really, should this be so difficult?  Google says there are an estimated sixty-four name brand athletic shoe companies. With many of these brands offering different styles in each brand. There are also off name brands. Store brands, and recommended brands.  How does someone find the right dam shoe?

I have tried multiple brands and they have all been flawed. They are flawed because of my old feet.  Usually when I get a pair of shoes, one shoe feels great, the other not so much.  I have also bought hundreds of dollars’ worth of different socks trying to find a pair of socks that are comfortable and will not leave my feet hot and stinky. Also, my legs swell, and most socks are like tourniquets by the end of the day.

Skipping ahead, let us leave behind the shoes and socks for a minute and talk about weight and backpacks.  No, I am not talking about my weight, I wouldn’t dare.  I am talking about the recommended weight a hiker can comfortably carry along these mile long ancient routes.  If you do not stop and consider the weight that your shoes must support as you walk, you may end up tossing your precious stuff along the roadside as you huff and puff in your crappy shoes.

Do you choose food over water in this weight equation?  Do you really need to wear panties, and are they the panties that will keep you cool and dry, or are they the ones that will stick to your butt.  I mean you really need to consider these things as they can make or break this “special pilgrimage.” You do not want blistered butt cheeks, or so I have read.

Now, let us jump back into the shoe dilemma as that may keep me stuck on the home front for all eternity. Forget all the other things to consider when planning a long trek across the plains of Portugal and Spain like clothes that wick away moisture, socks that do prevent blisters, shoes that fit, potty bags that you can carry, and “where the heck do I do a number one or number two?”

That’s what my closet looks like, okay no wires.

The shoes are by far the most important. The sad thing about buying shoes that others have rated so highly is that we cannot take them home and actually walk in them before making a purchase. Walking around in a shoe store for few minutes is not going to tell you if the shoes will work on a long walk.  No way in hell.

I have bought shoes that felt great in the store but crapped out while actually walking my trail.  I will admit to owning some very stylish “ mowing” shoes due to this technique.

I am not just ranting here.  I really need help in finding the bests shoes for my feet so I can begin training for my pilgrimage.  I need to start increasing my mileage and right now that is not possible.

Now there was one tiny helpful trick that I stumbled across in searching the databases of the world, and that is “Changing the way you lace your shoes to make  your feet more comfortable.  That is right.  Changing the way, you lace your shoes!

Let me stop and ask you has anyone, anywhere ever showed you, or suggested that you change the way you lace your shoes to improve your comfort level.  I can honestly say “no” to that question.  And, I might add that it pisses me off as I bought two pairs of shoes that were touted as the best for pain on the top of your foot.  The top felt fine, nice and soft, but the support was crappy. There went $180 bucks. The shoes couldn’t even carry me four miles without pain arising somewhere in my feet.

This new lacing technique has been a revelation. I would never have thought of it myself.  I have never paid any attention to lacing my shoes.  I have always left them the way they come laced.  I thought you had too.

I did not know there are different lacing techniques for different foot issues. Google and YouTube are wonderful resources.  I have said it a million times, and I will say it again.  Wonderful…. They have saved me a number of times.

The shocking thing for me first up was finding these instructional videos on lacing your shoes, and the second thing was that none of the “experts” I read or talked to ever suggested trying a new lacing technique.  I mean do they not know?  Do they just not want to share this secret technique?”  Is it only about the sale and not the customer?

It feels wonderful

I tried on five different shoes brands in the store, none felt right, and no one said “hey let’s look at your feet and how you lace your shoes.”

And it does make a difference.  I am shocked. The technique that I came across on the Internet is parallel lacing. It can relieve some of the discomfort that laces can cause on the top of your feet. Sometimes the top of my feet hurt more than the bottoms.

I have read that your feet can swell and grow at least one shoe size while out walking, so be mindful of this and make sure you do not need a larger size shoe to start with. Then look at your laces. Then look at your socks, and then look at the shoes again. And the final assessment is how they feel on the long haul….?

Sadly, we cannot take them out on a long haul without first buying them. What a mess for us hikers with bad feet.

I will admit that all my shoes are now laced with this secret parallel lacing technique.  This simple trick has certainly helped the top of my feet.  Amazingly so, I might add, but the problem is still going the distance.  I need the right shoes.

So, if you are bothered by sore feet and have found a solution or if you are a hiker and know of a good brand of shoes, I would certainly love to hear from you.  My feet would love to hear from you. And so would my wallet.

I cannot order another pair of shoes just to send them back again. The ladies at Kohls might just go on strike if I show up.

I think my solution will be to ask for help from the shoe companies.  Maybe I will write to them and see if they will sponsor my research into the best shoe for cranky old, knobby feet.  Do you think they will sponsor me?  I won’t hold my breath, but you never know until you ask.  Never be afraid to ask.  It can lead you in amazing directions.

I hope this “simple trick” I’ve shared of changing up how you lace your shoes helps with any foot problems you may be having. Share this tidbit with others, the shoe salesman certainly won’t, and for today, as I always say, have a great day today, You and I deserve it.  And remember, each journey starts with that first step, and a good pair of shoes.

Happy feet.

Naked Stars Everywhere.

Greetings this is Kris from Lifeview101.com

I am going to go on a tangent tonight because I just can’t take it when every time, I look at Yahoo, some star somewhere is showing me their near naked body. It is like looking at a rag magazine there are so many female would be, used to be, stars. exposing their nakedness. Many of them showing us how at the ripe old age of 30 or 40 or 50 they look wonderful. I want to smack the ones that do the post baby body pictures. As if that is the most important thing they should be thinking about right now. Really!  I don’t give a dam about their bodies, how are the babies doing?

Why do they care about how they look? Why are they constantly flashing naked or near naked pictures at us?  Is it just to get our attention?  Is it just to see our reaction to them being exposed? Are they that insecure?  Do they really need that much attention?

I am appalled every time I look at Yahoo, but I can’t resist. It’s like I just have to look and see what kind of garbage I’m going to be inundated with because that’s what happens five or six or seven times in a row. Some star or some social media star posing naked.

I can’t stand it. Why do they feel that they have to do this in this day and age when we’re talking about the “ Me too movement” along with all the stories about the many mentors, coaches, and others molesting innocent people. And all the violence that is going on.

Why do these women think that they need to show us their body?  Are they doing it to make themselves feel worth wild, as if we don’t care about who they are unless they’re standing there half naked?

I say it’s got to stop. These women have got to stop feeding into the fact that their bodies are more important than the person who they really have become.

What about their brain? Not one of them has shown or highlighted for us what wonderful things they have done for anybody or any community. Here are these rich women and they care more about flaunting their six pack everywhere, and then they care about doing anything great. There is not a damn word written about what outstanding things they’ve done for children or battered women or cancer patients or old women that need help to retire like myself.

No, it’s just another naked picture, after another naked picture of themselves. Why can’t they see people need help?  Right now there are so many stories about some newscaster, another teacher, another coach, another Hollywood mongrel who has abused someone under their care, and all the these stars care about are how they “still have their beach bodies.”

Naked?

Now I understand it is their right, it is their body, they can do with it what they want, I understand that saying, but you must remember that part of the sexual attraction between human beings for most of us is how that other person looks. We use our eyes, our touch, our sense of smell to become aroused in order to mate, that is what nature intended when we see a beautiful body male or female.

You cannot tell me there isn’t someone, somewhere who isn’t getting aroused looking at JLo’s six pack, or her slithering down a pole. Or seeing Beyonce’s breast, or someone’s neither regions peaking through a see-through outfit. You cannot tell me that isn’t stimulating someone’s libido. What idiot would believe that is not happening?

Do you not think there are things going on in the dark with them on the big screen?  If you think that you are a fool.

But here is my question, what happens to the beast you have aroused in your state of near nakedness if there is no one to soothe them.  Who will get the brunt of that energy?

My point is your near nakedness, or naked pictures are stirring up some fiend somewhere. When you think of the masses that look at Yahoo in these places, imagine the number of people doing things in the dark that we don’t want to imagine.

I am not trying to be crude; I’m not trying to be cruel, but these are images that are stirring up desire in people. How can they not? These are beautiful women showing everything they have to show.

I want to tell you that statistics show us that sexual trauma, sexual abuse, sexual molestation are happening all the time. The numbers are  staggering and are constantly growing.  I looked up a site and one site said that every 9 minutes a child is being molested by someone they know and love.

I want you to hear this again, EVERY 9 minutes a child somewhere in this country is being molested by someone they know and trusted.’

Isn’t she a doll. She felt so pretty.

Doesn’t that make you gag! Now I’m not saying these people posing nearly nude on Yahoo are causing that, or it’s their fault, but when you stand there posing naked, or near naked, I think that is definitely a mixed message.

Yes, you have the “right” to dress how you want, but you cannot expect to not cause a reaction when any normal human would have a reaction.  I think in some dark place within you that is what you are hoping to occur. You want to show people you have the “power.”

I do not know how you cannot expect someone, somewhere to become aroused when your lovely body is on display for everyone’s viewing pleasure. When you stand and flash pictures of being naked.

I don’t know how you cannot expect people to become aroused when our eyes are part of the sexual arousal makeup of human beings.

So, what is your point in posing nude? What is your point showing us your beach bodies again? What is your point in flashing your breast or butts or whatever else you are showing off.

What is the dam point? Are they trying to make us fatties feel bad?  Are they trying to make us ugly ducklings feel uglier?  Are they trying to show us that the good in our heart is worthless if you do not have a six pack.

What gratification are they getting out of flashing us? Are they really that insecure?  Do they think that no one will notice them if they are not near naked?

I would like each and every one of them who have posed half naked or naked in the last 30 days to explain to me “what you are gaining from that exposure.” Are you so insecure that you feel you have to flash us pictures of yourself, so we do not forget who you are?

She is so much more than a pretty face.

I want to hear what great things these millionaires are doing for all the people that need help.

I want to hear how they are helping their communities that are suffering right now. All the children that cannot afford to do their school lessons because they do not have computer service at home or because their internet services are mediocre.

I want to hear how they are feeding the hungry.  I want to hear how they are helping single mothers support their children in this time of need.

I want to hear how they have started little companies for our children to find employment at as all the little moms, and pops are closing up, and taking away our teens work force.

Instead of helping all we hear and see are these wealthy stars or semi-stars running around showing their naked bodies “going look at me look at me aren’t I beautiful” when they could be creating jobs for people. When they could be starting companies that would help those in need of work. When they could be starting some kind of grant system to help those who no longer have the funds to support their families.

Let us stop flashing our nakedness around, let us stop thinking that the most important thing about us is our bodies as I feel that is what these women on Yahoo are telling millions of viewers. They are saying that they are so important because they are willing to tone their butts, and chisel their abs.

What about their children, their daughters.? How are they feeling, and how are they going to feel if they get a little baby fat on themselves.?  Are they going to puke in the toilet, are they going to refuse to eat so they can look like mommy and daddy? Remember as the hormones start raging in their teens many new things happen to their bodies. We do not want them ashamed of that, we want them to accept how they look in the moment.  Not how they will look after a tummy tuck.

What are these kids going think is most important? How they look or what they do for the world?

Image if the caterpillar would have cut up his body. We would have missed this.

I think it’s time to stop flaunting your bodies to the world, who gives a “shit,” that is not who we are, that is not what makes us great.

I hope that is not what makes you great, but what can make you great is that you have the ability, the connections, the funds to help so many people.

Instead, you spend hours at the gym toning your abs so that you can flash them on Yahoo. Did you ever think to provide gyms for the many children who have nowhere to go to burn off some of their energy? Do you know that child abuse is on the rise with so many stay at home kids?

You could provide the best computers to those who cannot afford them. You can give musical instruments, lessons. and art supplies to children who show a talent for that kind of gift.

I think it’s time for us as a society to turn away from our self-involvement, from our narcissistic attitudes towards our body and how wonderful we look. We need to turn towards each other and offer a helping hand.

I know that the stars and those other rich folks have worked hard to earn their money. I praise them for their hard work. They have motivated so many with their success stories and what they have accomplished. God has given you a gift. You have the resources available to help so many. I do not care that your name is on some charity somewhere, people do that all the time. But do you know what really happens with the money you give in the name of that charity.  How many of these charities actually help who they say they will help?

Instead of spending hours in a gym somewhere, you could spend hours in your communities, your old hometowns to see what is needed now.

I am sick and tired of looking at it Yahoo and seeing the nudity that is there. That is not all that important in this world, is it?  That is not what is important in the whole scheme of things.

I want to see you helping children who cannot help themselves. Helping families that are struggling. If each one of you helped a different community, a different town, perhaps the one you grew up in, you would be reaching thousands of people.

She felt so lovely!

Please, I want to ask each and every one of you, can you show something besides your body. Something that young girls and boys can really hope to attain. Washboard abs are not important. Helping a starving family not starve is important.

Let young girls know that they do not need breast the size of watermelons, but instead hearts that size so we can love each other.  They do not need plastic surgery to remove their smile lines, they need to smile and laugh more with their family and friends.

Let them know that it is wonderful to give to others if you have been so blessed. Let us not change our faces, but instead change our attitudes as we are human beings, and we need to love and give to each other.

So, if this message reaches anybody, please pass this on, share this blog cast with others, so that they can help these stars feel confident in themselves. Let them know they do not have to show us their nakedness, we love them anyway. But if they cannot be outperforming and getting all the adoration they need; they can certainly earn it going out in their communities and sharing with the young.

We will still love them, we will still applaud them, please, please help the children, help those that are in need that do not have any food or heat or even a place to live.

Forget how you look, wash your face, put on your dungarees, and come out into the real world. And as I always say on my blog have a great day today you and I deserve it

What would your epithet read, ” here lies a great butt?”

Here We Go!!!

Yes it is the new year, 2021. I can not believe it when I look at that number. I remember when I was growing up and thinking toward the future, 2021 was so far away. I thought we would have traveled far into another galaxy or dimension by now, but nope, we are right here, right now on planet earth. So what are we going to do different?

I say the only goal we really need to set for ourselves is the goal to be a better person! If we head that direction all the other little stuff will fall into place like eating right, exercising, controlling our anger, getting a grip on our spending, and loving our family. We can include forgiveness in there if we feel up to that part. Also patience with ourselves because change is hard on any level.

I gave up chocolate on the first of this year, and last night on the second night of the year I ate two chocolate muffins and drank a cup of milk. My reasoning was that I did not want them to go to waste, so I thought I should just get them out of the freezer, before they got freezer burn, and eat them. They were delicious and made me feel like shit. So much for that resolution. I will try another later.

We can set any goals we want, be anything we want, go in any direction we want. It starts with that first step, and that first day. As far as I am concerned everyday can be the first day, so today I ate salmon and salad. I feel great.

In the chaos that is flowing around I ask you to take a moment to listen to some really special music. Something soft and flowing, perhaps without words so that you will not be distracted. Let the music carry you away. Let go of your troubles and worries, they can come back later.

I listened to some of the most beautiful music by ” Hauser” he is one of the worlds greatest cello players. Actually he and his friend have been a group of two for years called 2cellos. They are fabulous. And they are lovely to look at too.

I listened to them playing the song ” hallelujah” and the music pierced my heart traveling all the way through into the universe. It was like I was at a standstill floating freely among the stars, and the music. It was so lovely. And no I was not under the influence of anything but the music coming out of that box and into my heart. I felt in that moment that there was nothing in life worth giving up such a wonderful sense of peace for. We must not let the day to day chaos injure our souls. It is not worth losing that sense of peace over some garbage that we can’t even control.

When you are feeling down find something to lift up your mood. Music is the best weapon against the dark side. It has the ability to help us let go of the inner turmoil. It is magical in it’s power to bring about a change in us, and the things around us. Music has been shown to even soothe the animal world.

So go to You tube, we all love You Tube, and watch a video by ” Hauser” or the 2 cellos and let your sadness and pain flow away. We are perfect just the way are. We just need a little tweaking every now and then, and music can be that instrument. And as I always say have a great day today, you and I deserve it.

Mute. Turn It Off!

Ready, set, go!

Okay let’s change up our thinking. I’m done with politics for today. I want to rant about something else, and that something else is all the dam Medicare commercials. I mean if I have to see Joe Namath’s face one more time I am going to lose it!

There he is talking about “getting what you are entitled too, maybe at no cost to you.” over and over again. Yeah right I say, at no cost! What makes him the expert? Just because he is old like the rest of us does not make him the one I want to advise me on insurance. Football yes, insurance no.

I wonder how much per commercial he makes because as many times as I have seen his pretty face on television he’s probably added millions to his tax bracket. His medicare commercials started several years ago so tally it up.

In case you have missed all these commercials or you are lucky enough to have cable, I know that doesn’t usually go with lucky, but in this case it does. I only have an antenna so I am stuck with what the local television shoves in my face. Right now it is all about medicare. Oh, and life insurance in case you want that too. No Joe Namath for those commercials yet.

Now I love the old shows, reruns of everything I loved about the seventies, eighties, and nineties that keep playing night after night. How nostalgic. Wow, who would have thought they would rise from the dead! Anyway I have an antenna, and I stream with my Roku. I have saved thousands of dollars. Literally, but I am stuck with thousands of commercials about medicare, and renewing ” your benefits, maybe at no cost to you.”

Ah, the good old days when the kid nearest the television was the controller.

Now I love good old Joe, he was a hunk in his younger days. And not too bad as an old man. Great with a football, but the mute button has become my new best friend. I have pressed it so many times that the little speaker icon has disappeared. No worries I know right where it is. The sad part of this is that I can now read Joe’s lips I have seen those dam commercials so many times. Bad right?

As soon as I see his face I hit MUTE. You can too. Anytime something comes on that upsets you or you are tired of hearing about, just hit the mute. The silence is wonderful. What a great option. Lips move but the words are gone. You can even make up your own dialog, like ” kiss my grits, give me the money” or something like that.

And if you are really getting upset your controller has an off button too. Yep right on top somewhere. I know where that one is without looking as well, in case I am really annoyed.

Now I know insurance is important, but before you let some star lead you astray look up the cost, and the benefits. As senior citizens we can not refuse medicare part A. If we do they will take away our social security that we paid into, and make us pay back all that they have paid us so far. Really, look it up. You can not refuse medicare part A even if you already have a great insurance provider once you retire from your job. Your primary provider then becomes your secondary provider even if you don’t like that idea. Medicare part A becomes your primary hospital benefit provider rather you like it or not. Check it out.

Are you kidding me, part A?

And if you have to use medicare part A to go into the hospital you have to pay $1483 up front before any other charges or care can be given. This amount changes yearly. First comes the $1483, then your benefits. I should mention it reads ” the allowable benefits” make sure your care is allowable. That was an eye opener for me when I had surgery.

So, back to commercials. The health care industry is bombarding us with commercials because it is time to see if we need extra coverage, and who will provide those benefits. And the companies that consult with us, ” at no charge to you” get a kick back for all the people they send to the companies listed that they refer too, so don’t think they aren’t getting paid for what they are ” doing at no charge to you” (for you) because they are.

I have come to hate commercials. I hate the way words are twisted or presented as they try to fool us into thinking ” their” product is the greatest. And the stars have come out in flocks to do commercials as that is the new money maker for them. I’ve seen good old Tom Selleck one too many times already. He is peddling reverse mortgages.

Just because we are older doesn’t mean we have lost our thinking facilities. We can understand their jargon even if it is coming from good old Joe or Tom. Take your time and look things up. Read the fine print, or have someone your love and trust do it for you so that you can get the best care you can afford because that is really what it is all about. What we can afford when we can no longer work and must live on our retirement. Choose wisely. Do not let someone’s pretty face sway you. And for today, have a great day today, you and I deserve it.

Is it a controller?

Bad Hair Day.

Think before you act!

Sometimes I can’t wait for things to happen. Okay, most times. I am not a planner, more the “when it hits me”in the moment kind of person. Often I decide what I want to do for the day, or the minute, right at that time. It’s like the excitement slams into me and away I go. I don’t usually like to plan too far ahead because I may not feel like doing anything that far into the future. I hate to disappoint people if we make plans and I cancel because sometimes the energy gets lost in the wait.

Well that very thing happened to me. The energy was leaving my body as I had to wait for almost two weeks to get my hair cut. I had found a shop that was suppose to have these really good hairstylist, but they didn’t have anyone available until the end of my vacation. I wanted it cut now so I could get use to the short “do” while lounging around the house. No trips for me thanks to the virus.

I had such an overpowering “urge” to get my hair cut ” right this minute” that I called another place, and in my haste I went there instead. They said she was good with short hair. I foolishly believed them.

I could tell right away she was a newbie by the way she washed my hair, really gently, so gently that I almost couldn’t feel her fingers moving. It was like she was afraid I would start screaming in pain if she pressed a little hard. I wanted to tell her to “have at it” as I have been known to be hard headed, but I didn’t want to spoil her zen.

When we were done with the wash the comb traveled at the sped of a snail through my hair. Everything seemed to be going in slow motion. I finally had to ask how long she had been doing hair. ” Since December” she replied, ” almost a year.” It was September now.

Dread hit me hard as I watched her scissors slicing through my hair. First this way, then that way her comb and scissors moved. And, the direction was always upward.

What the hell?

I will tell you that once upon a time I graduated from beauty school. That’s what it was called back then. I did not go on to become a hair dresser because I had no talent. My future flashed before my eyes at graduation. All I saw were bobby pins and old ladies. I shivered and moved on to factory work. That I was good at!

But, what I learned was that as you ” raise” the scissors and hair upward the hair gets shorter. Makes sense right. Did I mention that I had a picture of the hair cut I wanted. I had a front and rear view as I have had bad experiences in the past. These did not help her.

She showed me the back once as she questioned ” is this alright.” It hit me that she didn’t have a clue about cutting hair. It was all chopped up into layers. Not pretty layers that blended well, but chunks of layers, like a staircase. Not at all like the picture that was suppose to be almost one layer to the nap of my neck.

I pointed this out, and she said ” oh I’ll fix that” as if she could magically put my longer hair back, and continued slicing upward. After a few minutes I finally had to tell her to stop it was so short and lopsided. I pointed out that my haircut did not even look like the picture and all she did was bat her eyes at me.

I jumped out of the chair and told her to leave it, and like a coward I paid and left. What I really wanted to do was yell for the manager and scream my disgust over the terrible hair cut I had just received. And how dare they tell people that ” Katy was good with hair” when she cuts like a butcher.

I shed a lot of tears when I got home, and for several days afterward as I tried to moose down the flying chunks that wouldn’t stay put. Then I remembered the tears I shed when chemotherapy took all my hair away. I guess I better be glad with what I have before it gets taken away again. See, there is always a positive way to look at life even when your are pissed. Have a great day!

Do you think hair gel will help?
